Ginkgo Biloba Extracts is a pale yellow powder obtained by drying and purifying Ginkgo Biloba leaves.
Ginkgo biloba extract has various pharmacological effects such as dilating blood vessels, regulating blood lipids, antagonizing platelet-activating factor (PAF), protecting ischemic injury, and anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor. The flavonoid glycosides contained in Ginkgo Biloba extract have the effect of scavenging free radicals, and the ginkgo terpene lactone has an anti-lipid peroxidation effect. The synergistic effect of the two can inhibit harmful substances generated by lipid accumulation in blood vessels, thereby it can protect the vascular endothelial cells and protect the cardiovascular system.
However, the composition of Ginkgo Biloba is complex. Generally, the content of total ginkgo flavonoid glycosides in the extract is 24%~32%, and the content of total ginkgo terpene lactone is 6%~9%. A rare natural compound that has not yet been found in other plants.
Why is it not recommended to drink directly with Ginkgo Biloba leaves in water?
Ginkgo Biloba which has not been processed by a series of standardized procedures contain toxic components, such as ginkolic acid, hydrocyanic acid, heavy metal residues, etc. These components are well water-soluble, while the flavonoid glycosides and terpene lactones that have real pharmacological effects are fat-soluble and foamy. The water process often allows harmful ingredients to dissolve into the tea, but not the beneficial ones. Therefore, drinking directly with Ginkgo leaves in water is harmful to the body.
